Saving the environment means keeping air, water and land free from pollution or contamination for the welfare as well as the existence of life on earth.
People pollute the environment in various ways. On the other hand, the government has a few hundred manpower to clean it. So, it is not possible for the government to save the environment. Rather the people themselves should take the responsibility of saving the environment.
Air is being polluted by the smoke of brickfields, motor vehicles, industries and the burning of woods and wastes. So it is important to know how to Save the Environment.
There are adequate laws to prevent all these and to punish the violators. But is it possible on the part of the government only to enforce the existing laws properly and bring the violators under justice without the help of the people? The answer is no. Each and every individual has to be conscious of the problem, abide by the laws and refrain from polluting the air.
The water vehicles spill burnt oil to seas, rivers and canals. Human waste also pollutes water. The chemical fertilizers and insecticides used in agricultural land contaminate waters. Just imagine, how the government can prevent all these people in the seas and rivers from polluting the waters. It is only the people who can refrain themselves from polluting water.
People pollute the environment by dumping garbage material, using chemicals, releasing industrial wastes, etc. How can a government know who, when and where a person is throwing polythene on the soil to pollute it? It is only the conscience of the individuals that can save the land.
When people walk on the road, they spit frequently. Sometimes, it makes the road dirty and the environment unhealthy. Can a government, law or person clean the road or prevent the people from spitting?
It is a common scene that men urinate on the roadside. Can anybody of the government prevent them from doing so?
The kitchen wastes are thrown on the drains and footpaths anytime round the clock. The city corporation personnel collect the garbage from the dustbins at certain places once or twice a day. So, it is only the individuals who can dispose of their wastes off inside the dustbins so that they may not pollute the air. So it is essential to know every individual how to Save the Environment.
